Description and Contradictions Our black salve has 3 times the bloodroot herb in it than any other product available. Many other black salves don't even have bloodroot in their product! There are issues of black salve burning the skin. This burning or uncomfortable feeling is from the DMSO and zinc chloride. DMSO irritates the skin. However, too much zinc chloride (over 60%) will burn and actually damage the skin. We use no more than 30% zinc chloride so to avoid burning and damaging healthy skin and tissue.
